Wind in the sails of UK public as demand for renewables grows

A recent poll carried out by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers shows that 51% of the UK public support more renewable energy schemes and that the UK government should back renewable development across wind, solar and tidal technologies.

The survey also highlights concern over the Government’s energy policy, as IMechE head of energy and environment Dr Tim Fox comments: “Confidence in government energy policy has been damaged by its mixed messages on low-carbon energy policy and uncertainty over its support for a new nuclear build programme.”
