Flood awareness campaign launched

The Environment Agency has used the 60th anniversary of the 1953 East Coast Floods to warn the 1.3m people currently at risk of coastal flooding in England and Wales. The anniversary coincides with the recent allocation of £294m funding to various areas of the country most at risk of flooding. It is estimated that 165,000 homes will be better protected by 2015 – 20,000 more than first estimated.
