Renown Group passes audit
LRQA recently completed a surveillance audit on the Renown Group. This involved a 3-day surveillance visit across two of our sites (Renown Oil and Gas, based in Washington, and PJ Engineering, based in South Shields), and was completed in accordance with the visit requirements outlined in the audit program.
At PJ Engineering, the following processes were audited: the engineering process consisting of enquiries, sales contract reviews and planning, purchasing, and supplier control. Management systems were also covered including strategy, KPI’s, management review and internal audit and corrective and preventive actions.
At the Renown Oil and Gas site, the engineering, purchasing and training processes were covered.
The Group approach to the QMS was said to be ‘gaining in maturity with good focus towards such, and improving the effectiveness apparent within the systems.’
The one outstanding non-conformance has now been closed off, whilst two process areas have been highlighted as scope for potential improvement to the current system.
The transition planning from ISO 9001: 2008 to 2015 standard is now underway with compliance targeted for Q3/4 2017.
